Brandon Wood: Future Mets 2B?

Quick post, only slightly longer than a tweet....

The Mets should make a move to acquire the recently DFA'd Brandon Wood. He will likely cost only a fringe prospect as his major league numbers to date have been abysmal.

Reasons for:

-He can't be worse than Luis Castillo or Brad Emaus.

-He has power. In 2005, he hit 43 jacks at Rancho Cucamonga (high-A). Over his eight-year minor league career, he averaged a homer every 18.6 at-bats while slugging .536.

-He's cheap and under team control through 2014.

-He has never been given a long leash.

Reasons against:

-The strikeouts

-Pressure of New York
